Sculptra works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. When injected beneath the skin, it releases poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which triggers a gradual rebuilding of collagen over time. Collagen is a key structural protein that helps maintain skin’s firmness and elasticity, but its production decreases as we age.

Unlike other fillers that provide instant volume, Sculptra doesn’t offer immediate results. Instead, it works slowly, with effects becoming more noticeable after a few weeks or months as collagen builds up. This gradual process helps restore lost volume, smooth out wrinkles, and improve skin texture. Over time, the treated areas look fuller and more youthful, creating a subtle, natural-looking enhancement.

 

Sculptra is especially effective in areas like the cheeks, temples, jawline, and around the mouth—places where volume loss can make a face appear hollow or sunken. The results can last up to two years, making it a longer-lasting option for facial rejuvenation compared to many other dermal fillers.
